Annual Service of Commemoration and Thanksgiving 2021

The High School has been part of the story of Glasgow since the 12th Century, from our foundation as the ‘Sang School’ of Glasgow Cathedral.

At this time of year the School traditionally celebrates the historic link and takes the opportunity to give thanks for the endeavour and commitment of generations of pupils, parent, former pupils, governors, trustees and friends, including all who contribute to the School today.

Unlike the restricted arrangements requiring last years’ service to be pre-recorded, we are pleased that this year, whilst still requiring to be online, we are able to have representatives of the School, including some S6 pupils and musicians, in the Cathedral for the Service of Commemoration and Thanksgiving for the High School of Glasgow on Thursday 23 September at 2.30pm.

We are grateful to the Kirk Session and to the Minister of the Cathedral and High School Chaplain, Rev. Mark Johnstone for conducting the service.
