Harry Ashmall’s book The High School of Glasgow seeks to trace as accurately as possible the School’s long chronological history.

Published in 1976, the year before the new campus opened at Old Anniesland, the author focuses on the origins of the School and its history, its various locations over the years, elements of school life as well its clubs and former pupils.

The result is a vivid and fascinating account of the School’s history dating back to the 12th century.
